Christmas Hope

MATTHEW 12:21

“ AND IN HIS NAME THE GENTILES WILL HOPE.”

Quite simply put, Jesus is the name that we entrust all our hope to.

And hope is something you take hold of by faith, and faith is something that comes through hearing, and hearing come through the Word of God.

Hope is growing dimmer and dimmer for many this season as all the cares of the world strangle the life out of us.  And this situation is not of God’s making, but our own making; for we are the ones who chase after these things that are perishing.

This Christmas, however, let us open our eyes and perceive the Light that is shinning brightly out of the darkness.

COLOSSIANS 3:1-4

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.  For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory“. Our life is hidden away with Christ in God, if we have also died and been raised to life with Christ.

For many, this hope is foreign; neither their life, nor their hope, has been entrusted to Christ.  If it were, they would be sitting in heavenly places even now.

Upon this earth we speak things that are foolish because of Christ- but I hope this Christmas you might ask one simple question: “Do I know Christ and the hope I have in Him?

The Word of God has revealed Christ to us; it is up to us to draw near to Him with humility, perseverance, patience, and sincerity of faith to know what is the breath, the height, the depth, and the width of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
