1 John 3:14 (CSB) — 14 We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers and sisters. The one who does not love remains in death.
James 2:14–17 (CSB) — 14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but does not have works? Can such faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily food 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, stay warm, and be well fed,” but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way faith, if it doesn’t have works, is dead by itself.
What makes “faith” dead?
I believe it is lovelessness. Look at what works James is talking about. He’s talking about “love”, not the Law. Love – which fulfills the law – is the heartbeat of a living faith.
Too many Christians have learned to debate Scripture, talk theology, and pray with beautiful words. But the altar of their life is stone-cold and the fire of worship no longer consumes their life.
Tonight, take time to pray to the Father of Love, and ask him to show you the glory of Jesus’ love so that your hearts will be warmed and your faith will be ALIVE!!!!!
1 John 4:7–10 (CSB) — 7 Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his one and only Son into the world so that we might live through him. 10 Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
