Psalm 3:5–8 (CSB) — 5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again because the LORD sustains me. 6 I will not be afraid of thousands of people who have taken their stand against me on every side. 7 Rise up, LORD! Save me, my God! You strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked. 8 Salvation belongs to the LORD; may your blessing be on your people. Selah
My meditation time on this passage seemed timely, so I thought I would share it here.
Everyone who has laid down in turmoil, fear, and anxiety to sleep in agony and sorrow has had their deepest sorrows answered in the One upon whom all the sins and sorrows of this world were laid; therefore, those of us who have joined Christ in his death also wake up again because the LORD has sustained us in his resurrection!
When armies of doubt, sadness, and anger surround us to take our life, we remember that Christ our God rose up to save us from the snare of death! He struck down the enemy of our soul, broke the teeth of sin, and brought salvation and blessing to his people by the strength of his love! Hallelujah!
Lay it all at the feet of Jesus.
